Fiber bragg grating (FBG) has been successfully utilized in dispersion compensation of optical communications in order to extend transmission length. It is known that CFBG (Chirped Fiber Bragg Grating) is sensitive to temperature and strain. It means external gradient strain and temperature will change the optical characteristics of the grating. This feature can be exploited to create a desired grating to compensate fibre dispersion.
